Technical Difficulties

When folks send a comment I see it. I approve them virtually every time; usually within a day but sometimes it takes a couple days. Presumably I see all comments (I sure hope that’s true because if I’m only seeing some comments that’s a whole ‘nuther kettle of fish).

The live blog shows “n comments” in the footer but displays none. Go figure.

I’ve no idea what’s the issue but I’m looking for an answer. Also, I’m pretty sure I’ve read y’alls comments even if you can’t discuss amongst yourself.

In 2020 this is probably the least worrisome development we’ve experienced.

A.C.

P.S. I’m not sure if “amongst” is a word but I typed it anyway. ‘Cause that’s how I roll.

Commenting on a post about comments not correctly commenting, very meta. But my purpose is to let you know that the OED backs you on “amongst”. Even if it is “less usual” than “among”, it carries a subtle distinction. Trust your instincts.

To continue the meta-ness. This is a comment which will not be visible in response to a comment which will not be visible.

      Also…. AMONGST! Huzzah!

Thanks for the Tech Diff post. That takes care of my troubleshooting. Post more about Yamaha’s and sail boats. I’m sure you have nothing else to do. Sanity and peace to you and yours.

I am currently unable to see the comments (yours, mine, others) on the blog. It’s been that way since your last post. FYI

Thanks for the info. I have been baiting my IT Guru trap with a Raspberry PI and SSD drives. As soon as I capture one and chain him to a laptop with orders to repair it or die, things will be better.

Ugh… this reminds me; in addition to hosed hosting settings and sketchy e-mail, my laptop is long in the tooth. I just kept thinking “I’ll deal with this shit after COVID” and things are steamrolling me.

We are amongst friends – it is a perfectly good English word even if effing spellcheck does not know it.
