MLK Day

Today, as I do every day, I shall not judge anyone by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

I’m sure both sides of the political spectrum can agree on that. (Yes, that’s sarcasm.)

All I ask is that you’re a good neighbor. A few small things like not trying to steal from others. Not harming children or animals (I accept shooting a bad dog or such as needful). Controlling your animals and children from harming others.

Not forcing your sexual antics on me and mine, same with religion and politics (often them same lately).

Community support by not having uncontrolled burns in dry conditions and high winds. Not exactly a good neighbor thing to fling flaming bits into our yards and homes.

I suppose I ask too much? Most of my neighbors seem to do these things pretty well, and sometimes we gang up to provide snow shoveling for neighbors that struggle with that.

Back in So. Cal., (pre 2015) me and the boys would have our Annual 45.70 MLK Birthday Weekend Shoot in Anza Borrego desert on the western edge of the Naval bombing range. The buddy with the Class lll license had to notify local law enforcement when keeping MG’s out overnight. Nobody ever messed with us. We took more than 45.70’s. That’s where I got to shoot a Ma Deuce, an MG 42 (1100-1200 rpm!!!), a WWll M1 Thompson 45 auto (5-600 rpm), a 45 auto, M-3 Grease gun, car-15/M-16 and more, several times over about a 10 year period. Great memories.
