Wilder, Wealthy, And Wise Hits One Out Of The Park

I haven’t seen the movie Second Hand Lions… yet. Now that I know it exists, I shall rectify that situation.

Nor did I know the author’s backstory from Wilder, Wealthy, and Wise. He’s got a hell of a story!

The movie and his story give depth to a concept. John fleshes it out beautifully. Well done sir!

He wrote a beacon to all of us. How many of us feel besieged by mediocrities? Does not a society which grows sick on it’s own decay weary the heart? It’s hard to be optimistic. Yet we must! I needed the beacon. I’m happiest when I hear the sound of bravery:

We should be big damn heroes.

We should share our adventures and inspire others to follow us.

Why else is life worth living?

I’ve shared a lot this post that I never had before. I owe so many for who and what I am. I want to help create a world where this adventure never ceases. Where men live and create. Where fortunes are won and lost, where the individuality of man is celebrated, and where improbable men can exist.

I agree with everything he said. I’m in awe of how well he said it.

Get your ass over to Wilder, Wealthy, and Wise to read the whole thing. You’ll be glad you did.

One of my favorites – been watching it for 20 years or better
Like a 1,000 times by now – not kidding, wore out several cd’s watching that movie

You are correct sir! I discovered W, W and Wise because of the plandemic last year.

  4. The movie ultimately portrays how to be a hero and why it matters. Our feminized society looks down its proverbial nose on heroes and especially when they are male. By doing this, we are seeing the disaster in Afghanistan as evidence of how soy latte people would run our nation into perpetuity. This is the future the left has for us and they stole an election to ensure we would be living in this hell right now in this moment. Only by following Hub McCann’s wisdom can we pull our proverbial asses our of this quagmire and get back to a place where heroes and exceptional people guide our nation instead of losers.

True success is born of inspiration, guts and talent and usually in that order. To allow anyone to label and therefore limit themselves is to sentence them to live but half a life.

Guts are the positive emotional part of us that embodies hope and a desire for greater things. Inspiration comes from our heart and dreams and when we choose to aspire to live our dreams we achieve greatness. Talent cannot be ignored nor overrated. It is essential but not all people who do great things posses tons of talent. They always are inspired and brave however.

Ultimately, determination to succeed and not be stopped by whatever faces us provides the final nudge to get us over the hump. If you do not have determination, this entire conversation is lost on you. Further, we should always encourage our friends to have determination because to suggest that they settle is admitting defeat and no hero ever does that.

Heroes don’t set out to be heroes: they just ACT every single day. Mostly it’s cutting their own grass or going to a workday at church. But they are so used to just taking care of whatever is in front of them, that they don’t hesitate when destiny calls. When our house caught on fire last winter, my neighbor came running through 6″ of snow in zero degrees in his flip flops. He did not stop to put his
boots or coat on. And when he went back. it was to grab the fire extinguisher from his truck. He didn’t have to rescue me… but you know he would have jumped the flames to do so if needed. We barely know this man. Just an ordinary guy – but one who doesn’t wait around for someone else to do it.

Secondhand Lions …. best fight scene EVAH. And probably most old heroes could do the same if it came down to it. They wouldn’t shy from it, for sure. And the boy learned how to take charge of his own life. We’ve owned the DVD since shortly after it came out. So glad to hear other people discovering this great movie!

If anyone is looking for another heroic movie for boys: Wild America. Any boy who starts life like that will keep going.

Thank you so much! Sometimes, the material writes itself . . .
