I have to admit to a guilty pleasure. I fuckin’ love Rammstein. I play it loud and don’t worry if people think I ought listen to more cerebral fare. (That said I tend to not crank it while Mrs. Curmudgeon is in the house… I’m not an animal.) As for the band, I don’t give a shit what they’re saying, it sounds great in German and so long as the guitar doesn’t let up I’m happy.
Meanwhile, I’m constantly impressed with the ability of Russians to remind me that crazy rednecks aren’t limited to North America. Thanks to Nourishing Obscurity I have now experienced a Russian redneck kazoo/accordion Rammstein remake complete with the original German lyrics. God bless us, it’s a great time to be alive! (Note, I have no idea how Los Colorados is a Russian band (which sings in German!?!)… they don’t teach that shit in school.)
Of course, I need to link to the original too:
I’m just going to leave this here for you:
That’s hilarious!
Oh My Effing GOD!!!! What did I just watch?!?!?!? Of course I had to share it with a friend.
Better Half and I were on a cruise a while ago. Throughout the day the various musical entertainment would play for an hour and a half or so then move to another location and someone else would take their place. There was one 4 piece combo that played a large variety of various rock from Rockabilly to Classic Rock to Heavy Metal. They even did some surf and du-wop.
One particular set they were playing heavy metal and thrash metal, the next act was disco or something. They started in on Du Hast (did a rather respectable version if I do say so) The Disco crowd was starting to filter in, they would get maybe two steps into the bar, stop like they hit a wall and hastily retreat. Was almost like a revolving door.
Who would think you could go on a cruse and hear Reamstein, Motorhead and Mega Death??
A cruise with Rammstein and Megadeth? I’m in! Of course I’m a pretty piss poor excuse for a customer base. 🙂
Have you seen this Rammstein/Cookie Monster mashup video?

I got your redneck right here:
There is a lot of great music coming from Germany, not just Rammstein.
Stahlmann and Eisbrecher are 2 of my favorites….
“Der Schmied” (the Smith) by Stahlmann – any song that includes the singing of an anvil can’t be all bad.

Eisbrecher and “Komm süßer Tod” (Come Sweet End/Death)
