WYBDR: Near Bear Lake Lodge And Departure

Leaving Lovell WY.

No further pictures from the climb up route 14A. This was taken after all the exciting parts were done and I pried my hands off the steering wheel.

Bear Lodge is a little rundown but it’s also a perfect wilderness lodge. It has everything you need; food, beer, fuel, lodging, camping, etc… I liked it there.

Camping the night before the big adventure.

My bike before I start strapping shit to it.

Add water and gas (1 gallon each) using Rotopax.

Add saddlebags and the very handy tank bag.

Then… all hell breaks loose and you hope the RokStraps will save you.

Man, that is a lot of real estate covering that bike. Selecting every piece really does become important, a few inches / pounds saved becomes valuable. Nothing for the front wheel rack ? I guess the headlight becomes affected by that.

That TW is an awesome trail bike.

I usually keep the front rack empty because the rack is below the headlight. Some racks are above the headlight and make more sense. The best use of that rack is when I’m strapping the bike down. It’s a righteous anchor point!

That is some awesome views for sure. I live in the Appalacian Mtns of SW Pa – been to Wy twice, into the Wind River Mtn Range. Drove both times. Just simply beautiful in Wy. Have a good trip. BTW, like the bike. BobT
