Liquid Nails

I’m in the middle of a construction project and I’ve got construction adhesive on everything within a ten foot radius. Plus, of course, several boxes of Torx screws scattered about (to be found later by tires).

It occurs to me that “screwed and glued” is an excellent name for a blues band.

I’m just sayin’.

    Screwed, glued, and tattooed?

Since I’ve never had anything like that happen to me, all I can ask is if you made sure to leave the applicator far away from where you were working, and back the thing off a couple of notches before you put it down.

    Heh.

I didn’t know you could back them off until someone showed me how, so I can somewhat sympathize. OTOH, if those Torx screws stick to something, they are less likely to wind up in your tires in a year or so.

Stuff happens. Just don’t rupture a tube putting it in the gun in the house. Just saying……

    • Wait!?! You can back off the applicator before you set it down? Damn. It’s so obvious!

Why didn’t you tell me earlier?

To be fair, you didn’t actually ask him …

But if it is unsolicited advice that you want ahead of time just in case it comes in handy, try these:

“Speed is the essence of the five card trick”
“Build a man a fire and he will be warm for an hour. Douse him in petrol and set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life”.
“It’s a good idea not to carry out random thoughts like “If all the rabbits in the world were laid end to end …” because there would be a hell of a lot more rabbits”.

I’m sure that your readers could come up with more useful nuggets of advice that may come in handy some day.

And if you don’t cut the applicator tip too wide open, you can stick a torx screw in it as a plug. After backing off the applicator’s ratchet thingy…

The torn screws are a bitch when you put them through your thumb. They do come right if you reverse the drill though.
